Sitges Rally of Ancient Cars

One of the most amazing things you realize when you live in Sitges is the great personality of the this village. Sitges is not at the shadow of Barcelona and its cultural events are frequent, good and totally independent from the big city. For example the Rally of ancient cars. Every spring a caravan of ancient cars (some of them from the end of XIX century) make the way between Barcelona and Sitges. The meaning is not to compete but to defy the time and show these old cars still can make the job were designed for. The cars are divided in several ranges attending their age and leaving Barcelona take the most difficult way to reach Sitges, the called 'costas del garraf'. This is a narrow and difficult road that climbs the cliffs of the coast. Up to some few years ago that was the only way to reach Sitges and is still is the only one if you do not want to spent a dime (the inner highway cost more than 4 euros). The existance of the new highway has impaired the situation of the old road. Now there is still a lot of traffic - in order not to pay the toll - but the road is full of bumpers, holes and some other kind of dangerous results of no-maintenance. Is like someone has forgotten this old road which is something stupid cause if you are a tourist and you want to have some breathless views of the wild shore you should take this one, not the boring highway. Anyway, these ancient cars have not only to fight against its age, but also about the road. The arrival to Sitges is really worth to be seen. The drivers are dress like in the age of their cars and they look really happy to have overcome the trouble road. Then comes the parade along the corniche and this year happened in a really spring, sunny and shinning sunday.

Vida nocturna a Sitges

Sitges es una petita poblacio no gaire lluny de Barcelona pero que ha conservat un aire tipicament mediterrani. En totes les guies del Mon Sitges es conegut pel anomenat Carrer del Pecat (el seu verdader nom es Primer de Maig). Aquest carrer esta ple de restaurant, pubs i bars musicals i te un ambient de joia i felicitat que s'encomana amb facilitat. No es d'estranyar que aquest carrer recordi en certa manera a Pacha i a la zona del Port de la vila d'Eivissa. De fet el primer bar de Ricard Urgell (Tito's bar) es trobava en aquest carrer. Una nit com Deu mana comenca al Carrer del Pecat i acaba en una de les moltes discoteques de la vil.la. Les hi ha per tots els gustos : a prop de la platja, al centre del poble i tambe a la zona del Port Aiguadolc i naturalment Pacha Sitges que es la mare de totes. No per casualitat existeix des del 1967 ! Pero aqui n'hi ha de tot : llocs tranquils per parlar amb els amics, prendre una copa, jugar a darts o al futboli o simplement fer una passejada per la costa. I la vida cultural no esta malamente. El nostre famos festival de Cinema, dedicat al cinema fantastic i de terror, ha fet que personatges como Quentin Tarantino, Jodie Foster o Terry Gilliam ens visitesin. Sitges es conegut per la vida nocturna gay que fa que hi hagin molts locals d'ambient sent el carrer San Buenaventura el centre d'aquesta moguda. I quan el sol comenca a apareixer , cal descansar a les platjes, menjar peix i preparar-se per una altre nit de bogeria...

Feria de arte en Sitges

La feria de arte de Sitges tendra lugar este fin de semana y el siguiente a lo largo del Paseo Maritimo. En este mercado se encuentra de todo, con alguna que otra pieza realmente interesante. Siempre una buena excusa para venir a Sitges.

Last 26th of February Pacha Sitges launched its new website to celebrate its 40th anniversary. This respectable age deserved to open a completely new website based in flash technology. The design is a mix of vintage and new trends and will room in next weeks many more new things like a blog - the one you are already reading -, a portal, forums, RSS, mobile technologies and many more things to increase interactivity and make you part of us : like this it has been during the last 40 years. El pasado 26 de Febrero Pacha Sitges lanzo su nueva pagina web para celebrar su 40 aniversario. Esta respectable edad merecia un sitio completamente nuevo realizado en tecnologia flash. El aspecto es una mezcla entre lo mucho vivido y lo nuevo por llegar. En las proximas semanas incluiremos nuevas funcionalidades como este blog, un portal, forums, RSS, tecnologias aplicadas al movil y muchas mas cosas destinadas a un unico fin : aumentar la interactividad y hacerte aun más participe de nuestra historia. Asi ha sido durante las ultimas 4 decadas y asi esperamos que lo siga siendo en un futuro. ¿Cual es tu opinion de nuestra pagina web?

El passat 26 de Febrer Pacha Sitges va mostrar finalment la seva nova pagina web per celebrar el seu 40e aniversari. Aquesta respectable edat mereixia un lloc completament nou realitzat en tecnologia flash. El disseny es una mescla entre el molt viscut i lo nou que encara ha d'arriba. En les properes setmanes afegirem noves funcionalitats com aquest blog, un portal, forum, RSS, tecnologies mobils i moltes mes coses que tenen una unica finalitat : augmentar la interactivitat i fer-te encara mes particep d'aquesta nostra historia que no deixa de ser la teva. Aixi ha estat durant els últims 40 anys i aixi sera en un futur. Quina es la teva opinio de la nova web?
